Although I started off in journalism I have been teaching since 2011 when I moved to Korea and fell in love with the place, the food and the people.

Three and a half years later, needing a break from kimchi and soju, I returned to Ireland where I taught adults at a language school in Dublin. After two years at home, however, I made the tough decision to pack up again and move to Dubai  to see what life is like living and working in the desert.

I am currently an English teacher at a public school trying to make good life decisions, keep fit and avoid eating too much cheesecake.

I hope this blog will allow me reflect, share some of my interests and along the way give an insight into my life and that of an expat teacher.
